To expand, Click on the Virtual Machine and then click on “Edit”. Click on the Virtual Hard Drive you want to extend .
After doing all this go and restart you virtual machine .It will start if everything is fine but it did not start in my case .Instead I got following error.
I spent many hours to find out the reason and finally I got it .
I happened because I have snapshot of the virtual machine and it was getting angry because I was changing the size of the main vhd file associated with it .
I tried to reconnect this snapshot with my new vhd file but it did not work .
Finally I deletes the snapshot and rebooted the virtual machine .It merged everything and I was fine because now I had only vhd file( main virtual hard disk file) .
Now everything with Hyper V is done now login to virtual machine and try to use the expanded volume ..
